NEDAwareness Week is dedicated to bringing the spotlight to the importance of healthy body images, the seriousness of eating disorders and improving public understanding of their causes, triggers and treatments nation-wide. By increasing awareness and access to resources, we can encourage early detection and intervention, which can improve the likelihood of full recovery for millions.
Teen Board NEDA Week: This year OEDA Teen Board members and other organizations around the state reached people of all ages across the entire state through a variety of events!
Edmond North High School– will be hosting an OEDA merch sale and participating in a Favorite Sport Team Coin Challenge.
Mount St. Mary’s– will be hosting a bake sale from Monday, February 20th- Friday, March 4th. Along with a school wide Eating Disorder trivia challenge and posting flyers for NEDA Week!
Deer Creek High School– will be raising awareness by posting flyers and having OEAD education materials available.
Heritage Hall High School– will be posting NEDA Week awareness posters and flyers school wide along with having an instagram challenge and raffle.
Oklahoma City University- Guest Speaker and Discussion Panel- Monday, February 27th @ 7:oopm located in the Dulaney- Brown Library, Room 214. Come hear a testimony of eating disorder recovery and participate in the discussion panel with professionals Paulette Pitt, PhD; Deanna James, LPC, CED’s and Michelle Hill, LPC. Directions Here
University of Central Oklahoma- Eating Disorder Awareness Panel– Tuesday, February 28th @ 6:00pm located in the Wellness Center, Room #127. Directions Here
OKC Myriad Gardens Crystal Bridge will be lit in green and blue for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week beginning Tuesday, February 28th!
