NEDA Walks

The National Eating Disorders Association began hosting community-building walks in 2009 to raise awareness of eating disorders, activism, and generate funding vital in the fight against eating disorders. NEDA Walks are hosted in over 65 cities with over 10,000 people participating nation-wide!

As of 2019 NEDA has restructured the organization of their NEDA Walks. NEDA now organizes the walks from a national level with a local walk committee of volunteers. The money raised at each of the NEDA walks will now stay at a national level or be utilized for individual grant opportunities. As a result, OEDA no longer organizes the walks and all walk information is available via the NEDA website and social media channels. As a proud NEDA network member we will participate in walks in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. These walks are incredible opportunities to educate our community and fulfill our mission.

“Beyond fundraising and financial support, NEDA walks raise awareness. Not just awareness of what an eating disorder is, but an awareness of just how many people suffer from eating disorders. Strangers, neighbors, and even family members… NEDA walks are essential in spreading awareness and raising support for those who suffer with or know someone suffering with an eating disorder.”
